Better Greatness to Expect from the 2024 Impreza – Something is fascinating about the 2024 Impreza. Although the car is known as a well-built and reliable ride (having detailed attention), it’s not a great ride. The lack of excellence isn’t because of the build quality, ride performance, safety levels, or standard specs. It’s all because of the engine. It’s good that the new Impreza will be a bit closer to perfection and greatness. The Impreza only comes with a naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit with a 2.0-liter capacity that generates 152 hp and 145 Nm of torque.
The interior cabin may not be too exceptional, but it has a great feel and builds quality. The Impreza feels solid, and it doesn’t disappoint in terms of comfort and convenience. Subaru sticks with a logical and straightforward layout instead of a flashy and extravagant design. The arrangements for the techs are managed most simple and can be easily accessed. You won’t have any issues with the AC or climate control dials’ operation or access. The rules for the wheels are easy to understand and manage. There are also other technologies, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. Of course, there would be more tech, but we don’t know the details yet.
Powertrain and Performance
The engine is the area that most people are struggling with. It’s not considered punchy or powerful enough, especially compared to its rivals. With only a four-cylinder unit of 2.0-liter capacity, Subaru has to compete against Honda, and Mazda offers a similar powertrain but punchier effects. Subaru is ‘only’ able to produce 152 hp, while Mazda and Honda can generate 180 hp.
Mazda SkyActiv technology makes it possible for the brand to create a high compression unit, producing tons of power without sacrificing efficiency. Unfortunately, the Impreza doesn’t have any gearbox that allows it to generate power. But with CVT transmission, it is slow and not productive. It’s even better with manual five-speed transmission because the driver is given complete charge. If Subaru pushed it with a manual gearbox, it would be even less efficient.
Release Date and Price
The basic price of the 2024 Impreza would be set at around $19,300. If you want the CVT transmission, it will cost you $1,300. After the base, the premium trim comes into the lineup. It starts at around $22,700, and it is only available with a CVT transmission. The next one is the Sport, which starts at approximately $23,000 with a manual 5-speed transmission. If you want to have the CVT transmission, you will have to add $1,100. The Limited trim would be set at around $26,400 with only a CVT transmission.
As for the launch date, there is no detailed information concerning it. But considering that the new Impreza would be set as the 2024 model, it’s likely that further info would be forthcoming in the middle of 2023—or at the end of 2023. It’s also possible that the 2024 Impreza may also come around early in 2024 for the latest launch.
